As I have gone through changes, so hath my hairdo. First, the blithe and carefree photo of me with long tresses, pre-diagnosis. Then, the short bob I had done immediately after meeting with my oncologist for the first time (Cambra: So you're really, REALLY sure all my hair's going to fall out. Garrett: Yes.) Then, the wig shots (which I never wore). Then the adorable haircut given to me as a gift from a charming hairdresser in Los Angeles, a friend of Shannon Cochran's (loved this one, til it started falling out.) Then the head shaving parties, and first photos of stubbly butch skull, still with eyebrows. And slowly, the stubble fell out, the eyebrows started to go, and I became a smooth little baby seal. And gradually, around New Year's, the hair started to return (though the brows continued to fade). Slowly it returned, short and baby-fine at first, then thick and pelt-like. And finally, finally, the eyebrows began to grow back, bit by bit. And now I am almost returned to normal, save for the short 'do and weird color. And ironically enough, never before have I gotten so many compliments on my "haircut"!
NEW PICS!
-Next shot in the great floral 60s dress (which happens to be vintage, courtesy of my mamma) is on my birthday - hair getting longer but still pretty straight.
-Then, me in Mexico - hair long enough to stick a flower in! But you can tell it's starting to get curly by the way it's sticking up and out over my ears...(charming)....
-Next up, me admiring the decor at Johanna's wedding in Santa Fe. You can see the hair waves pretty well in this shot...
-And finally, a nice shot of the encroaching curls (and my adorable goddaughter Tillie, as a bonus)
